Noise Attenuation

Signal-First Noise Attenuation for High-Resolution Seismic Imaging

A Signal-First Approach to Noise Attenuation

At TBI, we believe in “signal-first” noise attenuation. Our priority is preserving the subtle diffraction energy essential for high-resolution imaging.

Targeting Noise While Preserving Data Integrity

We begin the workflow by utilizing the variety of algorithms in SeisSpace/ProMAX® to target surface-related and ambient noise. At this stage, we maintain a conservative approach to ensure data integrity while finalizing statics and velocities.

Iterative Evaluation and Controlled Suppression

This iterative process allows us to evaluate the specific impact of further processing before deciding if more aggressive suppression is required.

Final Cleanup and Event Enhancement

Once an optimal image is achieved, we apply a final cleanup and event enhancement using our proprietary tau-p domain coherency filter.
